Jaime-Kánan McPherson is a Melbourne-based photographic artist specialising in commercial photography. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Photography Studies College (PSC) in 2024. Her practice explores the intersection of commercial and fine art photography, revealing unconventional styles and creating an otherworldly atmosphere within her work.

Throughout her time at PSC, Jaime-Kánan has developed a distinctive visual style. In 2024, she culminated in a graduate folio that confidently brings a dark aesthetic into the commercial photography space with sophistication. Her latest series - ‘Oscuro’ draws on gothic and grunge-inspired fashion, using dramatic lighting and expressive poses to explore the strength and complexity found in shadow. The work challenges conventional beauty standards, offering a powerful celebration of individuality and difference. 

After finishing her studies, she is a full time parrot parent and currently a casual freelancer who is willing to shoot anything from a small business, events or portraits to preserve special memories.
